Donate New and Used Elementary Books
My name is Josie Motsinger and I am a rising senior at DH Conley High School. I have been volunteering with our outreach program at Operation Sunshine and I also play guitar and mandolin in the worship ensemble. I have had a passion for reading since I was young, and I believe that everyone should have access to good books. Not only are books vital to a child's imagination, but books also help children grow their knowledge with every new book that they read. Because of this, I am starting an initiative that aims to foster the love of reading through easier access to books. To do this, I am collecting gently used, and new, elementary-level (kindergarten-5th grade) books to donate to public schools and organizations such as Elmhurst Elementary and Operation Sunshine. I plan to continue looking for more programs and classrooms that are in need, as well as more locations to collect donations. Any donations that could be made are greatly appreciated! Donation deadline is August 25th.
