Communion Information

Brendan MurphyonTuesday, May 24, 2022 At the beginning of Lent, all were invited back to the rail to receive communion, both bread and wine. There is still some confusion around the flow of communion, so here is a quick refresher: The priest will distribute the bread, placing a wafer or piece of bread on the palm of the your hand. There are 2 chalice bearers, the first one offering the common cup from which you may drink, and the second offering wine, using a dropper to place a drop of wine on the bread which should be flat on your palm. The only other option is not to receive the wine at all. Receiving by intinction, dipping your bread in the chalice, is not allowed at this time. If you choose to drink from the common cup, please eat the bread before receiving the wine. If you choose not to drink from the common cup, please keep the bread flat on your palm for the second chalice bearer.
