Growing Together at St. Timothy’s

Small groups are one of the best ways to get connected at St. Timothy’s. They create space to build real relationships, share life together, and grow in faith in a more personal setting.

We have a variety of ongoing groups focused on prayer, music, knitting, men’s and women’s gatherings, service, and fellowship. There’s something for just about everyone! If you’re interested in learning more or finding a group that fits, reach out to the church office.

Daughters of the King

The mission of the Daughters of the King is the extension of Christ’s kingdom through prayer, service and evangelism.

Our Motto: “For His sake . . . I am but one, but I am one. I cannot do everything, but I can do something. What I can do, I ought to do. Lord, what will you have me do?”

Dinner Groups

Dinner Groups are one of the easiest ways to get connected at St. Timothy’s. These small groups gather throughout the month, meeting in homes or at local restaurants to share a meal and enjoy time together. It’s a laid-back way to meet people and build relationships within the church.

Episcopal Church Women (ECW)

The Episcopal Church Women (ECW) meets the second Tuesday each month from September through May. The ECW has been honored to sponsor, support and assist in funding projects within our parish as well as needs in our local community. Past projects have included preparing meals to store in the freezer for our Unseen Guest group, assisting at the JOY Soup Kitchen, supporting the Episcopal Relief and Development (ERD), and providing Christmas gifts to residents at the Oak Haven Assisted Living and children in foster care. We support each other in fellowship through an annual White Elephant Gift Exchange in December and a Women’s Dinner in May.

We are Episcopal Church Women, committed to one another and called to witness for Christ. Our challenge is to provide a safe place where every woman is free to become the person Christ called her to be. We are called. We are different. We are one body.

To make our vision a reality, the Episcopal Church Women of East Carolina must engage, mobilize, and support the women of our Diocese to ensure we have the means to go out into the world rejoicing in the power of the spirit and serving the Lord.

All women in the Episcopal Church are part of the ECW and we encourage ladies to join us in our projects. For more information about the Episcopal Church Women (ECW), please contact office@st-tim.org.

Knitting Group

The Knitting Group began with three interested women who gathered to provide a teaching/learning opportunity to knit. Today this group meets together not only for knitting, crocheting, needlepoint, quilting, and cross-stitching but also for sharing, supporting, talking, laughter and an occasional field trip. If you do not have a hand craft, we also fold church bulletins! All adults are welcome to join in or simply visit.

We welcome suggestions for charitable projects. We are currently involved in a joint ministry for East Carolina Knitted Knockers, under the leadership and direction of Carol Taylor and associated with the national Knitted Knockers organization, www.knittedknockers.org

We knit or crochet special, soft, lightweight breast prosthetics that are designed for women who have undergone mastectomies. Find us on Facebook and contact us on Messenger at’m.me/eastcarolinaknockers’.

Yoga Classes at St. Timothy’s

St. Timothy’s is proud to offer yoga on our campus once a week. For 5000 years people have used these strategies to connect with the sacred and improve the health of body, mind, and spirit. Our classes are currently led by Alyssa Sugar who has been a Registered Yoga Teacher (500hr. level) for 21 years. This class is a gentle, slower class which incorporates features from Alyssa’s training in Iyengar yoga emphasizing attention to proper alignment and breath control, as well as Esther Myer’s style of yoga with whom Alyssa trained from 1999-2001.

The cost is $10 per class with discounts given when you buy in bulk. Bring your yoga mat and a strap, if you have one, and join the group on Wednesdays at 5:30PM in the Parish Hall.
