Are You Being Called to Serve?
Jesus said, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.” This is the greatest and first commandment. And a second is like it: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. – Matthew 22
At St. Timothy’s, these words shape how we live out our faith. One of the clearest ways we do that is through service: showing up for others, sharing our time, and using the gifts we’ve been given to make a difference in our church and the wider community.

Walking Alongside One Another
Congregational Care
Every person, every family, every community has times of need…when we are sick, when we grieve, when we feel isolated, or when our burdens are too much for us to carry alone. Within the family of St. Timothy’s, there is a small group of committed and caring individuals who ensure that a helping hand and a soft shoulder are available in our times of need.
Inreach: Caring for Our Church Family
Members of the Inreach team check in with those who are ill or are caring for family members; offer comfort to those in grief; reach out to those in isolation with telephone calls, visits and notes of support and quietly follow up on referrals. Their help takes on many forms – visits, respite care, transportation, sometimes just a listening ear and an open heart. The team may connect with another Church service group such as the Unseen Guest team for meals or Daughters of the King for prayers. Sometimes the team helps those in need with referrals to community services for assistance. When further pastoral care is indicated, information is shared with the Rector for follow-up. Occasionally, additional hands and hearts are required and the team will organize other volunteers within our Church family to fulfill the need.
The Inreach team at St. Timothy’s provides care for members of our parish family with compassion, discretion and sensitivity. Their good deeds are often unknown and unnoticed by anyone other than the recipient. But the role that they play in connecting our hearts and building a strong Church family is immeasurable. For more information about Inreach or to make a referral, please contact office@st-tim.org.
Be Part of the Work
There are many ways to get involved at St. Timothy’s, whether you’re looking to serve within the church or out in the community. Some ministries meet regularly, others are more flexible, but all of them are built around connection, purpose, and showing up for one another. Wherever you choose to jump in, you’ll be part of something meaningful.

Daughters of the King
The mission of the Daughters of the King is the extension of Christ’s kingdom through prayer, service and evangelism.
Our Motto: “For His sake . . . I am but one, but I am one. I cannot do everything, but I can do something. What I can do, I ought to do. Lord, what will you have me do?”

Joy Soup Kitchen
The primary focus of the Jesus, Others and You (JOY) Soup Kitchen is to deal with food insecurity by providing meals to the poor and homeless in the community. JOY Soup Kitchen serves over 3,900 free, nutritious, hot midday and evening meals per month to individuals and families with children. For some, this may be their only meal of the day.
St. Timothy’s supports the JOY Soup Kitchen ministry both with regularly scheduled volunteers and with donations of food items and dollars. For more information about the St. Timothy Joy Soup Kitchen ministry support, contact office@st-tim.org

Unseen Guest
The Unseen Guest ministry delivers a meal(s) to parishioners who are ill, have been hospitalized, have a new baby, or have an illness or death in their family. Six teams rotate weeks of service to check in on members of the parish who are in need, deliver meals and bring comfort. Team members may prepare the meal themselves, purchase a meal from a local restaurant, or utilize individual frozen meals prepared by our Episcopal Church Women (ECW) group.
Christ is the head of this Ministry;
the Unseen Guest at every meal,
the Silent Listener to every conversation.
For more information about the Unseen Guest, please contact office@st-tim.org

Community Crossroads Center
Starting as a shelter for men only, the Community Crossroads Center (CCC) has evolved into an emergency shelter for men, women, and children; and a permanent supportive housing program for those who are disabled. CCC helps people turn their lives around by giving them hope and a desire for a better quality of life 365 days per year.
The Mission of CCC is to “serve the homeless and those at risk of homelessness by providing safe housing, and assisting them in developing a long term plan that leads to self-sufficiency.” Visit www.communitycrossroadscenter.org for more information.
St. Timothy’s is one of over 43 churches and individuals who help to provide meals for up to 100 residents at the shelter. Six teams of St. Tim’s parishioners rotate through a schedule to provide dinner on the first, third and fifth Thursday of each month. Team members bear the cost of the food, prepare the meal off-site and then serve residents at the shelter kitchen.
